HONOR Magic6 Series: Powerful Camera Specs Revealed Ahead Of MWC 2024

HONOR is set to unveil its highly anticipated Magic6 Series at the MWC 2024 on February 25 at 3 PM Spain time (9 AM US Time, EST). Before the global launch, the company highlighted advancements in the camera system, positioning the HONOR Magic6 Pro as an ideal smartphone for sports photography, termed #Sportography.

The Magic6 Series features an AI-powered Pro-grade Falcon Camera System, underscoring HONOR’s commitment to camera excellence — Upgrades include a 180MP Periscope Telephoto Camera Lens, an enhanced telephoto lens with a wide f/2.6 aperture and an industry-leading 1/1.49-inch sensor. According to HONOR, this combination results in a 400% improvement in light sensing ability compared to competitors’ flagship products, promising precise and clear capture of distant subjects.

In addition, the camera system introduces the HONOR AI Motion Sensing 2.0 technology, surpassing its predecessor; Trained on an extensive dataset of 8 million images across 10 different scenarios, this technology enhances the device’s AI capabilities, enabling it to intelligently identify various sports movements, including walking, running, jumping, and stretching.

The telephoto lens boasts 2.5 optical zoom, 5X/10X in sensor zoom, and an impressive 100X Super Resolution, allowing users to capture subjects with exceptional precision at various distances. To showcase the camera system’s capabilities, HONOR collaborated with Cécilia Berder, a 3-time World Champion and 2-time Olympic French Fencer, using the Magic6 Pro to capture fast-moving sports techniques, particularly relevant for events like the Summer Olympics in France.

HONOR Magic6 Pro – Motion Sensing Capture

Responding to our questions about the showcased photos, HONOR confirmed they were captured using the main wide-angle lens with the 50MP sensor that features an adjustable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/2.0. The company also confirmed the use of its AI Motion Sensing Capture technology for the shots, which taps into a network trained with over 8 million images for precise recognition of various sports scenarios.
